23 pangolins saved after van accident in Sukhothai

By The Nation

A van accident in Sukhothai province late on Friday led to the rescue of 23 pangolins.

Police were alerted about the accident at 11.30pm when a van lost control at a curve and flipped onto the roadside in Ban Klong Dan village in Tambon Ban Suan, Muang district.

When police arrived, no one was in the van.

The van was carrying 19 bags with 23 pangolins, including a baby, and a dissected pangolin.

The pangolins were taken to the Ban Suan Police Station and later handed over to park officials to be released in the Sukhothai wildlife sanctuary.

Hopefully these poor creatures will survive and thrive back in the wild.  No doubt they were bound for a certain country far north of here for so called medicinal purposes.  Thats what those people to the far north of here believe their scales can be used for.  Utter BS like using rhino horn etc

That's because the van was driving itself.

I did know, a very scaly problem not only in Thailand

The Chinese eat them. Go to Guilin or to some other place where exotic animals sit in cages out front of restaurants waiting to be ordered. These are people who simply don't care about lives other than their own.
