Way up north in Fang, a pretty small place, I got it done in a local clinic which sent the simple blood sample by post to Chiang Mai and the result was back 2 days later. painless and about 800b. The doc did suggest that a low reading, under 4, was pretty good at suggesting no infection or cancer but still suggested the finger up the bum technique to decide if the prostate was swollen.

LOL> I've never done that exam. I know it could be necessary but I've never felt inclined. My PSA is under 1.0. Ease of urination can be a sign. If it gets a bit slow, then the prostate could be enlarged. Look up boron supplementation. Apparently, it can help prevent prostate cancer. iHerb sells a supplement called NOW: Prostrate Support that is getting good reports. They sent it to me by accident. I got a refund and was allowed to keep it.

The finger is not to tell if the prostate is enlarged although it can, the principal purpose is to feel for potentially cancerous lumps.
