How's this road? Thought I'd try it tomorrow (on a motorbike) after visiting Imm if it's not too bad. 

Perfectly do-able but keep your wits about you re safari trucks & others who'll assume you aren't there.

Very nice paved road with a great view, but don't forget to concentrate about traffic, which however if not heavy at all, but some cars are using the short cut.

 

When reaching the end of the hill-road, it splits into two. Turning left you'll get out at beginning of Lamai area (around Buddy). Turning right, you'll get out at the 7-Eleven corner – and just to make sure we talk about the same 7-Eleven corner, it's the one after the temple, almost opposite the road that pass through the bar-area and continue to the public beach entrance, where the one beach road ends...
