Hey guys

Which restaurant/cafe would you recommend me sitting down with my laptop to work from on Chaweng Beach?
Ideally somewhere where the family could rent sunbeds as well while I'm getting some work done.

Cheers!

You what ? Are you suggesting working, using someone else's Wi-Fi and power !! Don't you know that posting this sort of thing, on TVF, is silly, silly, silly....

1st will be the "work permit police"..

Then you'll get hit with the electricity theft accusations.

Finally, there will be the jealous attacks because you can work from a beach :)

Stand by for the onslaught....

Hahaha yeah was joking with a buddy that I would probably get a few of those responses.

Got my own business and WP here in Thailand and I'm obviously gonna buy stuff from the cafe/restaurant so think they will be happy. Also rent sunbeds from them. And my Macbook Pro got 8 hours battery time so no stealing electricty and I'm gonna use my 4G not the crappy wifi. Show me what ya got then Thaivisa!!

You could probably hang out at Ark Bar – they allow non-residents to use their beds and tables, when buying stuff from the restaurant/bar – but invest in a pair of Sennheiser noise-cancelling headphones in Central Festival's Power Buy first, you'll need them for sure if you intend to work...

There are no sunbed rentals on Chaweng beach, existing ones belongs to the resorts, where are you planning to stay?

Yes you can, several of the resorts rent them out for 250-300 baht a piece. :)

Thank you! Got any idea if they sell headsets that can cancel out noise from the surroundings if I have meetings?  Jabra UC 550 is really good for that, but cant seem to find it in thailand.

As mentioned, they sell Sennheiser in Power Buy, somewhere in the area of 16,000 baht, which is around international market price...

Sorry was not clear enough. I meant a headset where the mic also can cancel out noise from my surroundings. Sennheiser seems to be like Bose, and the mic is not really good on those ones.
