Re-Entry Permit (Multi)

Featured Replies

Re-Entry Permit (Multi) expires end of April but will be getting a yearly extension (based on retirement) first week in April. Going to Japan mid April so just wanting confirmation can still use re-entry until expiry end of April. Thanks in advance ?

Yes you can, as long as you are back within the time of your visa or extension. Or off course the end of your multiple entry allowance, but they normally goes hand in hand.

Um, please see this thread:

Validity of re-entry permits

A re-entry permit is issued to keep a permit to stay valid when you enter the country.

If the permit to stay date it was issued for changes it is no longer valid. When an extension is applied for and granted a new re-entry permit is required.

If you look at your re-entry permits you will note the expire on the date your extension ends.

So even if you apply for and are granted an additional Extension of Stay, the previous Re-entry Permit may no longer apply, the previous Extension of Stay now being superseded by the new stamp requires a new Re-Entry Permit also be  applied for and issued.

Thanks! Will get a new multi re-entry same day as my extension ?✌

No you cannot. You must get a new re-entry permit (probably a single).

You must be back in Thailand on the due date to collect your extension.

I have just done the same thing myself.

Once the new extension has been granted the existing re-entry permit can’t be used because the IO needs to stamp you back in for the full term of the new extension and the existing re-entry permit is only valid until the end of April.

So you need a new re-entry permit.

He will get his extension stamp on the same day he applies (other than 2 offices and then it is the next day) since it is based upon retirement.

Only certain extension applications have a a under consideration period given (marriage and working primarily).
