Has anyone had experience of a blacksmith in the Chiang Mai area ?

I would like to make a custom design small axe.

I have found one guy who makes nice knives, but he says he does not know how to make an axe !

Having been here many years I know it is a waste of time to persuade him otherwise.

A different knife maker might be willing to try.

Ask the storekeeper in shops where they sell the machetes if they are made locally.

there is a small shop on Chiangmoi rd........about 1 block down from moat on left side.   They have been there a long time selling various tools.   Owner of shop MIGHT have an idea  ( and someone who speaks

very good thai could go with you)  .  of course if you have a photo of what you would like that could also

help to explain.
