Huawei P9 Screen Replacement Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Have a Huawei P9 that needs a new screen and digitizer. Easy to buy on Ebay, but having trouble finding someone in Chiang Mai willing to do the install. Apparently an involved operation. The Huawei repair center wants more than the value of the phone to replace it. Anyone have a recommendation for a skilled technician? Thanks.

If you only buy a screen assembly (LCD & digitizer) then it is somewhat complicated because you need to remove the old screen assembly from your existing frame and reattach the new one. They are joined with heat sensitive VHB tape so you need a heat gun or perhaps a hairdryer and plenty of patience.

However it only costs a few dollars more to buy a screen assembly with frame. In that case you simply swap the components (mainboard etc.) from your old frame to the new one. The only tools required are a screw driver and plastic spudger.  Either do it yourself following a youtube tutorial or get a shop to do it. I guess around 1 hour labour. Parts on Aliexpress about USD25 or less.

Now there is some good information. Thanks for that. With frame is definitely the way to go. Had watched videos replacing just the screen, and it looked like a nasty job.
