From my friends in NY

Two years ago Alan had test can with such capsule.  It took 24 hours for the pill to pass through his system, taking photos along the way.  He had to wear a device to record the films.  Sounds like science fiction, right!

Main reason for doing it was to view areas not accessible by colonoscopy or endoscopy.

Subject it the Chek-Cap. Here a 2 min video , CUT OFF SOUND !

Below quote from https://seekingalpha.com

"Many people will not go in for a colonoscopy and that is why colon cancer is a leading cause of death for people past 50. This is where Check-Cap's C-Scan System could revolutionize diagnostics for colon cancer screening and it may have other screening uses as well. For these reasons, there is a large market potential for Check-Cap's C-Scan Systems that is not being met by either the home tests or the traditional colonoscopy tests. The C-Scan system allows a patient to swallow a capsule which then maps and transmits data throughout the entire digestive process. Once the pill is ingested, it transmits data to a receiver that the patient wears (at home and without fasting) which is then returned to the doctor for analysis. The advantages of the C-Scan System are huge: As mentioned before, it does not require fasting as a traditional colonoscopy requires and it is not invasive or embarrassing. Furthermore, the C-Scan test is expected to cost about $600 which offers huge costs benefits over a traditional colonoscopy which often costs $1,200 or more plus significant additional expenses for an anesthesiologist.  "

IF ANYONE HEARS CHEK-CAP is used here , please tell us!!

Reminiscent of the old1960s movie, Fantastic Voyage

The trend of non or minimally invasive medical diagnostics and treatments continues. Interesting.

We have had prior threads on this. Capsule/camera virtual colonoscopy is avalable in Thailand but:

1. Expensive (costs more than conventional colonoscopy)

2. Cannot remove tissue for biopsy or remove pre-cancerous polyps, meaning that a separate colonoscopy will still be needed if any lesions are identified.

In other words you may nto only not avoid colonoscopy but wind up paying more than 2-3 times as much.
