Baking Soda, Vinegar in Large Quantities

Featured Replies

G'day,

Where is a good place to buy large quantities baking soda and vinegar other than Yok and the likes? I need them for cleaning the house, not for baking or cooking.

I remembered there used to be a shop to the west of the moat near Pun Pun that sells chemicals, beakers, test tubes, etc.

thanks

  Matt

I would suggest Makro, gallon containers of vinegar, baking soda in (IIRC 500g) packs.

By the way, sodium carbonate (soda ash or washing soda) as sold for pool maintenance makes an excellent, low cost but reasonably safe degreaser (rather more oomph than baking soda but less lethal then sodium hydroxide).

Thanks, I almost forgotten about Makro. Where can I get sodium carbonate?

We got ours from forum sponsor Swimmingpoolsthailand, we actually use more for degreasing the barbie then gets used for the pool.

I wouldn't waste my time with that cocktail

Just go straight for the liquid drain cleaner, alot easier

I also only use vinegar and baking soda for cleaning around the house, removing chemicals from vegetables and for softening laundry (vinegar).

For cleaning tile floors and some other surfaces, you can also use salt.  I found that it works better in many cases.

Also looking for a supply of large quantities of baking soda.

Vinegar can easily be found in all supermarkets in 1-2 gallon sizes
