Middle East 67 Killed Near UN Aid Convoy in Gaza; Israel Denies Full Toll
xxx The lesson Jews learned during the Holocaust was that Jews have to protect themselves and can't rely on nation or other people to save them from genocide. The only way to give Jews the best possible chance for survival was to create a militarily strong sovereign Jewish state. From the day Israel was founded in May, 1948, Israelis have fought against enormous odds for their lives and the life of their homeland. Jews learned their lesson about survival very well. Palestinians and their supporters have to realize that for Jews, never again is now. The 60,200 deaths in Gaza can be explained by: Hamas hiding armed fighters among the civilians of Gaza, which causes those civilians to lose their protected non-belligerent status under the rules of war. using hospitals, mosques, schools and other civilian structures as depots and firing points for missiles and other weapons. building military command centers in or underneath civilian buildings. disguising Hamas members as journalists and having Hamas members join international humanitarian groups as aid workers. using women and children as spotters for military missile and artillery attacks. launching an attack that killed 725 Israeli civilians and 71 foreigners, including 364 victims at the Supernova music festival. The attack had no military goal but was intended only to kill as many people as possible. taking 251 people hostage and holding them under inhuman conditions. raping women as well as mutilating and despoiling victims' corpses, then dragging the corpses through the streets of Gaza as Gazans cheered. Hamas killing any Gazan who opposes or even criticizes Hamas' policies. refusing to recognize the right of Israel to exist as a sovereign Jewish state, which makes a permanent peace settlement impossible. Destroying Hamas is Israel's only option to guarantee the security of it people. -

Report Generous CEO Donates 108 Million Baht to Ang Thong Hospital
Photo via Facebook/ โรงพยาบาลโพธิ์ทอง จ.อ่างทอง An elderly Thai CEO has won the hearts of netizens by donating over 108 million baht to Ang Thong Hospital. Somnuk Suksrikan, a humble philanthropist, funded 10 kidney dialysis machines worth 5 million baht and gave an additional 3 million baht in cash last Friday. The hospital’s Facebook page shared a photo of Somnuk touring the facility with Dr.Chokchai Wisetsittichok, the hospital director. This isn't Somnuk’s first act of generosity. Since 2012, he has consistently supported the hospital, starting with a 100 million baht donation for a six-storey building, now named after him. Somnuk's philanthropy extends beyond healthcare. He has also contributed to educational projects, funding new school facilities and providing resources for teachers and students. Despite his noble deeds, details about Somnuk’s personal life remain scarce. Netizens are eager for the media to cover his story. Many see him as a role model for other wealthy individuals, especially those from older generations, and commend him for prioritising hospitals and schools over temples, considering recent controversies involving financial mismanagement in religious institutions. Commenters have expressed wishes for Somnuk's health and prosperity, thanking him for significantly enhancing hospital services. His contributions have resulted in better healthcare experiences for many. As the CEO of the Mangmee Nakhon real estate project, Somnuk has quietly made a lasting impact through his generous donations and community support. His story, marked by humility and philanthropy, still moves many online. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The THaiger 2025-07-22 -

Yet police officers don't feel the need to mask up, and will even produce their credentials upon request. UK police had to deal with US funded and armed terrorists (including a a few who turned out to be former US military), the peelers didn't need masks, even when they lived in the same communities as these sectarian terrorist thugs. -

Economy US Mum on Thailand’s Bid to Slash Import Tariffs to Zero
Picture courtesy of Amarin TV Thailand awaits the US's silence on a bold proposal to slash import duties on thousands of American goods to zero. Deputy Prime Minister Pichai Chunhavajira revealed that the proposal, made on July 17, aimed to avoid a hefty 36% tariff on Thai exports. Unlike Vietnam and Indonesia, which settled at 20% and 19% tariffs, Thailand’s hopes for acceptance are uncertain. Pichai highlighted the potential impact on domestic businesses, cautioning that granting zero tariffs to the US could lead to demands from other nations. He stressed that any deal must ensure mutual benefits, particularly safeguarding vulnerable sectors like agriculture. Despite attempts, an official response from the US remains elusive. Meanwhile, the European Union is devising stronger counter-strategies against the US amidst dimming prospects for a trade agreement. Following US President Donald Trump’s threat of a 30% tariff starting August 1, EU officials, including Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic, have been exploring options to retaliate if needed. EU countries, with Germany leading the charge, are leaning towards "anti-coercion" measures, potentially affecting US access to public tenders or services. The European Commission's plans hinge on a qualified majority to activate such strategies, previously envisioned for pressure from China but now considered for the US. With the looming August 6 deadline, the EU faces critical decisions on activating suspended tariffs and whether to use its “anti-coercion” instrument (ACI). French support for the ACI contrasts with hesitance elsewhere, as President Trump warns of retaliation against any actions taken. The EU’s strategic response may involve limits on US investment, intellectual property rights, and the sale of US goods in Europe. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has suggested the ACI as a measure for exceptional circumstances, hinting that action remains on the horizon, reported Thai Newsroom. As tensions heighten, the global trade landscape awaits pivotal shifts with potential impacts spanning agriculture, automotive industries, and more. The US's silence places increasing pressure on Thailand and the EU to secure favourable outcomes amid a volatile trade environment. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Thai Newsroom 2025-07-22
