Hi everyone,

I need to find a local luthier in town to do a small job.

I’m replacing nylgut tenor ukulele strings with Aquila Red strings (with low G).

I could restring myself, but these strings are notorious for breaking easily with installation; most importantly, the nut may need some adjustment, as well as G frets may need to be radiused (rounded off) a bit to accommodate the more delicate, unwound, low G string.

Not a big job like rebuilding a neck on an instrument, (!), but a job that nonetheless requires a little finesse:  I don’t want my frets to be ground down too much.

An suggestions?

I live in town, and English-speaking would be nice, but not imperative.

Thanks in advance!

Rather than going into more details:

1) You can search this group for "luthier" and several past recommendations should pop up.

2) You can also find specific CM map locations for most by searching for "luthier" using the CCCC Map Chiang Mai (google). Just be sure to click "See all results". Best wishes.
