Decided CM forum would get more views than Pets.

I've been spending a lot of money saving a dog from certain death by boarding him.

I've done about 60,000t so far.........ridiculous.

We have land but he can't be allowed to run loose it's on a very dangerous bend and someone could get killed, not to mention a pit bull lives next door.

I've found a dog run cable set on Amazon but the shipping is more than the item not to mention every month I have to wait is another 6-7000baht boarding.

I'd like to buy all the bits needed, galvanised stuff and sheathed cable.

Any suggestions of the best place?

Go to Nana Screw. They will cut the cable to length and crimp ends on.

Drive 2 stakes into the ground, Use quick links to secure cable ends to stakes.

Attach dog chain to cable. Attach to dog.

No need for the spring stuff. The dog will learn right away how far he can go.

As mentioned above

You only need 5mm Galvenized cable

Just make sure there is nothing around that the dogs lead will get caught in / or if it decide to run around something like a tree

So what will you be doing?  Staking him out so the pit bull next door can finish him off?

Why not install a fenced dog run, to keep your dog inside and the pit bull outside?

Fair comment

Because if a dog gets in it's a goner

It’s a fair comment but I have to prioritize.

As I said ive spent about 60k baht for boarding in the hope of finding a home for Scoobie.

Enough's enough.

Right now I need every penny of ready cash....and a bit more..... to build us a house on the land in question.

Ps The dog next door is caged though in the past I saw it loose.

Pps it’s female

Ppps he’s a sizeable strong dog praps not a pushover

If anyone would like to take over this dog who,s loving and lovely if treated right..... or pay for a pen ....problem solved.

Why not go to Warrorot market and buy 20 meter of thick cord / band ?

This you can use also when you take the dog for a walk.

Good luck

A dog on a long lead will just wrap it around trees, posts, etc.  A cable run is a much better way to go, if (and this is a big if) the area is safe for the dog.

Really these overhead cable runs are very easy to construct from parts you can buy at home improvement stores or Nana Screw, as suggested.  We used overhead cable runs like these to manage the watering hoses in our greenhouses in our business back in the U.S.  Better than dragging hoses through the aisles and creating a tripping hazard and wearing out your knee and hip joints pulling 150 feet of full garden hose along the floor.

Thanks for the good luck but I'm sure Nancy;s right here......there are small trees in the area I'm thinking for the run and he'd get knotted up in no time. But there is a bit where a run 20m can go with him on the connecting long leash about 5 metres long and he should be OK. I will need a long leash anyway for walks assuming my Parky's only progresses slowly so I can walk ( staggering a bit already) so I'll find a swivel eye which can just be unclipped.

There is a large open area but it's going to soon be a building site. Think the wife's asked someone to knock a kennel or shelter up to go at one end of the run in the shade of Mum's chalet. That will be double good so he will get to know Mum and have a friend there instead of being in a boarding kennel most of the time.

As I've said for several reasons although he's a lovely boy he would be better elsewhere. If anyone knows anyone who is willing to put a little effort in  in return for canine love please say.

Anyway thanks to you and Nancy and all for your interest.
