Re-pot that climber, not really gardening

Madam has some climbers in containers, these are on a pergola arrangement and provide shade and rain reduction to our downstairs sitting area. They make a massive difference to the temperature and reduce the amount of rain that blows in when the summer storms attack. I use the words "in containers" advisedly, they have long grown through the bottom and so are a permanent fixture.

Next task some activity with the trimmer.

Of course, several of the pots have been broken by internal root pressure.

So how to re-pot without cutting the main root and killing the plant?

Get a new pot and cut it in half of course.

It's a game in two halves.

Then fit it around the plant.

A splodge of brown silicone and a long cable tie to keep it all together and the jobs a good-un.

Level it up with some bits of the old pot and re-fill with earth once the silicone has set.
