I need to buy a new 4G wireless router – Advice Please

Featured Replies

I need to buy a new 4G wireless router that has a SIM card slot + LAN ports to use with an internet package . I have found the following models that all look similar , but I'm not really sure which one would be the best option .

1. The TP-link 300Mbps Wireless N 4G LTE router model – TL-MR6400  ( 2,620 Baht )

 2. TP-Link Archer MR200 AC750 Wireless dual band 3G/4G Router Lan 4 port ( 2,626 Baht )

3. D-Link 4G LTE Router DWR-921 ( 3,060 Baht )

I'm not really knowledgeable on these routers so could some one please suggest which one above would be the best one to buy. or suggest an alternative .

Thanks  :jap:

I would imagine they would all do the job, the first one specifically lists compatibility with Thai carrier networks. Besides the Ethernet ports you could achieve the same thing just by hot-spotting a phone. An expensive way of getting an internet connection as cellular internet usually has a Data limit.

Many quite reasonably priced 4G packages have no data volume cap, though the speed usually is capped at 1, 4, 6Mbs etc., which is enough for most people considering the price which can be as low as 2,000B per year or less.

Thanks for the comment , I seem to get better transfer rates to my other PC's when connected to my home router via a LAN Ethernet cable , than using a hotspot option . Where I live I have no other internet access option other than using 3G/4G wireless

You need a router that is capable of HSPDA+ at 900 MHz and 2100MHz and LTE at 900/1800/2100MHz for best results with AIS.

So they all fit the spec.

Though the D-Link will allow you to fall back to Truemove or a CAT SIM in case of failure, as it can utilise 850MHz.

The Archer utilises superior AC wireless, but it appears that you will utilise LAN instead of wireless connections anyway.
