I have no sound with my Ipad however the earpiece works fine with sound. I have already tried all the so called fixes as per google to no avail and was wondering if I can connect a small speaker to the earpiece plug ?? thanks

Yes you can. Also should be able to connect Bluetooth speakers or headphones. It is also quite cheap to get repaired.
