A roadside noodle vendor was killed and four patrons were severely injured when a 10-wheel truck ploughed into a food stall on a Samut Prakan road early on Wednesday.

The Bang Kaew police station was informed of the accident at 1am.

Police and rescuers of the Ruamkatanyu foundation rushed to the scene in front of the Federal Electric Co Ltd in Tambon Raja Theva in Bang Plee district to tend to the victims.

The stall owner, who has yet to be unidentified, was found dead under the truck.

One of the injured was found under the front left tyre and three others under the truck. Police have yet to identify the victims.

The shop was selling noodles to night-shift workers of the factory.

A female employee of the shop said the owner was cooking a bowl of noodles when the truck swept into the stall.

The truck driver fled the scene.

The speed those trucks travel at is utterly ridiculous coupled with the hoon drivers most of them not hard to see accidents like this happening and gutless drivers who flee the scene should be put away for a very long time ! don't the owner /operator of these trucks check to see if these employees have licences ??????

Another hit and run

RIP

Time to get harder driving test and time to check all driving license again Thai can't drive responsibility

Time to get all vendors off sidewalks, edge of roads and a good 10 meters back from the road, even the darn people who park/stop at these stands can/will/and have caused accidents like this!!!! AND get all of the Fricken Motorbikes, including COPS off the sidewalks!!!!!!

How much change do you make before a country loses its character?

What license? Or for that matter, what pre-shift fatigue or alcohol check.

Fairly certain the cops will be onto the owner rather quickly with plate number.

Every death/accident is a pay day for the RTP. Why enforce and kill the goose that laid the golden egg? Money #1.

RIP to the deceased and speedy recovery for the injured.

Tomorrow, there will likely be more that we can complain about.

A sad state. And a sad state of affairs.

I would imagine having a truck drive over your head may take identification a little longer !

I think you may have identified the problem with identifying  the unidentified noodle seller

I suppose that would come down to your definition of a countries character

No, best leave it as it is. 20,000 plus dying on the roads every year is something that nobody should or would want to change.
