I fail to see the logic.  What is the difference between the dirt on the bottom of my feet (assuming barefoot), the dirt on the bottom of my flips or the dirt on the bottom of my shoes.  It's dirt.

I'm not sure, but certain members of the forum seem to have a better understanding. Apparently, they say, dirt only sticks to flip flops.

Bare feet around fresh food......I can see the sense of it, despite the OP trying to give birth to a rich versus poor conspiracy theory.

Hey OP, ever figured out why dentists require you to put on slippers before entering treatment rooms or why medical personnel wear masks, are they also class or income related issues!

There are no more germs on a delivery persons feet/flip flops than there are on their customer's shoes. By your logic, customers would need to take their shoes off at the door, which many small establishments do require. If the rule is not to prevent injury to the workers on the store's property, it's probably not for a good reason.
