Only place I can suggest is Amorn as they repair all kinds of large and small electrical appliances. Located east of Power Buy and next to Computer City (north of the old city and on the north side of the moat).

These travel advisories are really meant for the naive traveller so I don't think you have to follow their advice and flee. But I would suggest you have a bag packed and ready.
Yeah. For smaller health issues I can go to Thai government hospitals and pay a fraction I need to pay in private one.If you are over 65 it is almost impossible to have good insurance here .
