Can anyone tell me the advantages of having a yellow house book and a Thai ID card, does it make it easier when doing your yearly immigration visit , someone once told me that with a yellow book you could walk into a car showroom and purchase a motor vehicle without the need to get a letter from immigration for proof of address .

Can anyone tell me the advantages of having a yellow house book and a Thai ID card, does it make it easier when doing your yearly immigration visit , someone once told me that with a yellow book you could walk into a car showroom and purchase a motor vehicle without the need to get a letter from immigration for proof of address .

Yellow book is no good for purchasing a car in Chonburi Province, they require a cert of res, others will say different of course, may be different in other provinces .

A yellow book is proof of address, immigration take a photocopy of it when I do my marriage extension now.

I don't have a Thai ID card I use my Driving licences which have my given Thai ID number on from my yellow book.  

As for buying vehicles it depends on the who controls the companies policy of what they will except and what they will not except in my experience.
