Finding healthy, free range chicken...

Featured Replies

Where can I find completely antibiotic-free, free range chicken? What's the expensive place to find it, and what's the cheap place to find it (i.e. not the city center)? I would be cooking it myself at home so I am finally getting a whole chicken with the liver and gizzards and all that.

How trustworthy is Thailand when it comes to such labeling as free range, cage-free, organic, etc. Thanks for any help.

You can find it in back of someones house, where they have burnt the garbage, and the chickens have dug all the burnt plastic and old batteries. I doubt you could trust the free range label, or for that matter organic. Maybe Im too pessimistic, but...........

You can not be serious asking a question like that.  Must be a troll.

Betagro, say their chicken and pork are free from antibiotics,

growth hormones, but they are not free range, the chicken will

have been grown in "Broiler houses ",and whole chickens will

not have offal included.

If you can find local free range chicken, they are going to be

mostly skin and bone.f you have room in the garden, raise

some yourself, that is maybe the only way you will get what

you want.

Betagro have a large outlet on Mae Jo road,,on right hand

side, nearly into Mae Jo,coming from Chiang Mai.

You can find it at "Taladin Market". It's the same owner as "Baan a Din restaurant"
Just type "taladin market" on google.
You can order on line or receive it directly at the shop.

Worgeordie, I appreciate it. I don't plan on living in a home that has a backyard, but in a condo instead, since I'm not permanently going to be in Thailand. It might be easier to find someone that's already raising them and just buy from him, no?

Taladin Market is a place that I will look up.
