Two more Chinese airlines flying into Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Not more than two weeks you were all complaining that the poor shop people and traders who didn't have enough money, there are no tourists you said, businesses are boarded up, the government doesn't know how to run the country, the economy is in dire shape  blah blah blah!

Now, A Chinese airline lays on more flights and you're all up in arms expressing your dislike of the Chinese, the pollution problems and traffic jams they will cause and how it's all generally very bad for you personally, one poster even wants to create a farang enclave in Thailand!!!

I'm guessing either you're all girls who don't know what they want and keep changing their mind or you want your cake and eat it - we want tourists but only the right kind of tourists, even more, we want a say in what are the right kind. Perhaps you should consider emigration, I hear the UK is nice this time of the year!

That's not the point is it ?

We can have plenty of Chinese , but there need to be an infrastructure , Pattaya is expanding fast , there's no such thing as low season anymore . TO make us expats happy and tourists visiting , they need to make sure the roads can handle all the traffic .

I moved out of Bangkok in 2013,  I wanted better air quality and a sea view.  It's still here but the dirty roads are the same , the traffic are up 30% , then add Bangkokians visiting for the weekends , it is really bad at times and it will get worse.

No such thing as low season you say, why is everyone complaining there are no tourists and everyone's broke as a result?

What's so bizarre about this thread is that here we've got a bunch of immigrants and tourists, (mostly) Brits, living in Thailand and complaining about the poor quality of tourists visiting Thailand......and you should see what they have to say about foreigners when they're not in Thailand! Interestingly, some of these same posters are all well known Thai bashers.....the Empire is not dead, long live the Empire!

Whaaaa, this is twilight zone material if ever there was any.

For the life of me. Why is everybody afraid of the Chinese?  They are just human Beings

It is the residual reverence of feelings of glorious imperialism that should have died years ago but still persist.

Anyone else see the irony in their landing at a former US military base?

Sell more planes to the Thais but please tell me what your thoughts would be in landing at a former US Base.

But the logical answer would be U-Tapeo airfield is closet to Pattaya. That would be the main reason they fly there. Or would you think it is better they land in Bangkok and bus there?

I agree with this.  I have tried to let it go they are just people coming here to enjoy their holiday, not to harm anyone.

But if it was not them probably complaints about other people. Seems like human nature I guess.

People are worried about 2 new airlines flying to U Tapao? According to that Bangkok paper we can't mention all 3 airports are going to be upgraded to allow a total of 200 million passengers within the next few years. You aint seen nothing yet.

Look . I have been here since 2013.   Between March and July , it used to be not so busy on the roads, and many restaurants were struggling , except for the local expats you could not spot that many tourists coming in for a week or two .

It all changed with the Chinese invasion, the Thai business owners would maybe have a farang friendly restaurant before, now they serve the Chinese instead, combine it with the Russians still arriving on cheap flights, and the low season is not really visible anymore , at least not here in the Naklua area , and Central Pattaya.

Maybe it's a lot more relaxed on the darkside , I wouldn't know.

if it gets even worse next year , more of us will consider to move out. But I love the idea of having Terminal 21 nearby , let's see how it will work out in the end.

I did reply to that but somehow my post disappeared.

Double post (delete this) suddenly by magic it appeared.

I love the names  "Donghai" and " Kunming"  sound a little bit lewd  and maybe very appropriate for flights to Pattaya.

Will they also bring in some bar stool hotties from Shanghai ?

I didn't fly in from Shanghai, but there were several smoking hot cuties on my China flight last night, where I was the only white guy.

Quite a few Filipino guys looking like rotation workers, but just one Caucasian.  A well behaved and delightful plane load.  And that's sincere- no sarcasm at all.  7 years ago when I moved from China to Thailand, the Thai drivers were better than the Chinese.  Today, the Chinese drivers are much better, probably because of all the CCTV's (enforcement).  I'd say the same about Chinese tourists getting better.  I used to hate getting on a Chinese flight.  Today, they're pretty well behaved- with a few exceptions just like any country's hooligans.

Edit:  I should clarify my praise of Chinese drivers- That's in the city of 10 million where I live up there.  I can't speak for the other 1.49 billion.

the u t'apao airport IS NOT 36 kms from pattaya. I am in Jomtien, south of pattaya and it is at least 45 kms from Jomtien.....get the facts right

Here you go, 43.3 kms, Pattaya to Utapao.....I suspect the article intended to say miles, not kms.

https://www.google.co.th/search?q=distance+from+pattaya+to+utapao+airport&oq=distance+from+pattaya+to+utapho&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0.17311j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Oh wait...37.2 kms using Route 332 and Route 3, game set and match

what nationality are you??

I was referencing another Chinese airline to match the subject headline. Hainan Airways. Many do not know you can fly direct to China and get a Visa on Arrival at Hainan airport.

The word "island" is key, Hainan Island.

some Chinese women are absolutely.. beautiful,with amazing hardbodies and killer legs....

They used to ride bicycles everywhere.

The next generation of international travelers isn't going to have the nice legs now that so many drive.  You'll have to look in country for the ones that can't afford a car.  They still pedal, but they can't afford international travel.

Wow, sorry just the opposite my friend.

I live at The Base in central and about an hour ago, 50 young cute female Chinese girls showed up in several vans for their "school holiday". All about 20 years old not on tour, but winging it.

Just a small amount of the young Chinese I have witnessed today in town.

The younger Chinese are coming more and more.  The word is out and they love this place so much.

Many more non tour type travelers are coming. Millions truly over the next several years.

This is Thailand now.  Either deal with it, or find another place.

Chinese are the now/future tourism of this place.

Accept it or leave it......
