Teacher, saleswoman killed in Ang Thong car crash

By The Nation

A female teacher and a saleswoman were killed when their cars crashed head-on in Ang Thong’s Wiset Chai Chan district on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the accident happened at 3.30pm on Pho Phraya-ThaRua road in front of a Bang Chak petrol station in Tambon Yilon.

Thanaporn Saisil, 34, a saleswoman with Asia Medical Industry Co Ltd, was killed behind the wheel of her car.

Pakhaporn Pongchup, 35, a teacher at a Suphan Buri school, died later at Wiset Chai Chan Hospital.

Police said Pakhaporn was driving from Suphan Buri to return home in Ang Thong and Thanaporn from Ang Thong to Suphan Buri when the accident occurred.

Police have yet to investigate the cause.

2 per day, minimum, that will maintain their No.1 position....

When will the carnage cease !!!

" Police have yet to investigate the cause."

look in the mirror.

RIP.

No way of knowing the details but you could place a hefty bet on the fact that one or neither of them were wearing seatbelts and/or one or both were playing with their phone, as you can watch these practice's every hour of every day.

Just returned from Koh Samui and saw one Policeman in a week and watched the majority of people driving as follows:-

1....Drunk.

2....Speeding.

3....No Seat Belts (as high as 95% of drivers and passengers).

4....Using Mobile Phone.

5....No Lights after dark.

6....Arrogantly and with no Due Care and Attention towards other drivers.

Our Minibus Driver from the Airport and a Hotel Bus Driver who returned us wore no seat belts and both answered their phone's whilst driving.  We took an Island Tour Bus while we were there and neither the Driver or Tour Guide wore belts; indeed, some of the belts in the Passenger Compartment were broken and unusable as well.

I reported all these observations to the relevant party's and got the usual shoulder shrugging and limp excuses/apologies from them all.   Basically; they are just not interested in safety....end of.
