Neurosurgeon in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Again, I've tried the search feature, but nothing opens up even though there is a medical and doctors listing of recommendations...or at least, used to be.

Can anyone recommend a neurosurgeon in Chiang Mai?  I have a hamstring problem that quite surely needs surgery.

You might well need a neurosurgeon, but NOT for a hamstring injury. For a severe (avulsion) hamstring problem you might need to be referred to an orthopaedic specialist for a consultation who will advise you as to the most suitable course of treatment. From personal experience, I sincerely hope it's not an avulsion-type injury which is incredibly painful, but the recovery from surgery is a long, tedious and difficult process too.

Good luck,

Joe

Thanks, Joe.  I swear I could not imagine any pain worse than what I endured a couple or so weeks ago.  I've seen 3 orthopedic docs at Sipaht, all of whom just issue me more pain pills, one so strong that I was having weird dreams at night.  I stopped taking that pill!

I'm scheduled to see a chiropractor on Sunday; this all started with a bulging lumbar disk.  But the leg has caused me more problems than my back, which may have pretty-much corrected itself.  But four weeks on now and my leg is still numb-ish, weak, and very bothersome in the middle of the night.

The orthopedics doctors at Sipaht either don't want to listen to me, or they just want to sell pills and injections, and keep me coming back.  They even suggested an epidural cortisone shot, and if all else fails, back surgery.  No thanks to both.

My next stop is the chiropractor.  I was asking about neurosurgeon recommendations just in case I might require seeing one later.  It's best to know who to go to, based somewhat on recommendations here, rather than shopping around, wasting more time, and potentially doing more damage.

Hammies require rest and physiotherapy.May not require surgery a scan should indicate if required.Never been able to find a physio in CM that knows anything about typical sports injuries.Painkillers wont help, just mask the pain. Very debillating injury had a few in a past life playing football
