The Watchdog Thailand (WDT) and neighbours on Friday filed a complaint with police against a Bangkok woman for alleged cruelty against some 50 dogs.

Chonchanok Tungtaengsiri of WDT and six neighbours filed a complaint with Huay Kwang police against Saengrawee Kanjairungroj, 69.

Chonchanok and the neighbours alleged that Saengrawee kept some 50 dogs in miserable conditions in small cages in her two-storey townhouse without any exercise.

They said the dogs received no treatment and the woman preserved the dog carcasses when they died and put them on show in the front of her house.

She later took them away after being criticised by her neighbours.

They complained of a bad smell from the house.

Police promised to obtain a warrant to search the house.
