Ten passengers were injured when a Bangkok-Nong Khai bus ran off the road in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Sida district early on Wednesday.

Police said the accident happened at 2.05am on the Mittraparp road.

Ten passengers, who were slightly injured by the impact, were sent for treatment at the Sida district hospital.

The bus was transporting 30 passengers from Bangkok’s Morchit Terminal to Nong Khai.

The bus driver, Thongsak Chaikuad, 33, claimed that a truck suddenly changed lane to block his way, so he swerved to the left to avoid hitting it, causing the bus to run off the road.

Phantom vehicles are gaining favor over brake failure as a Thai excuse covering up poor driving and excessive speed.

Is there only one driver for such a long trip ?  Bet he fell asleep.

My gosh guys, now you are really boring, invent a new excuse for your incapacity.

A pickup ended up in a ditch outside my house at 10.30 one night, and the driver claimed someone had crossed the road in front of him. It's a country road where people rarely walk even in the daytime, so I guess he must have seen a ghost. Or fallen asleep. Anything than own up and take responsibility. The funny thing is, they lie to save face and end up making themselves look even more stupid.

All of those buses that I've been on have 2 drivers

The driving standards are getting worse after 8 plus years driving here I drove today about 10 km and got nearly taken out from every direction so much so I feel lucky to be alive  never seen so many and such reckless disregard for life in such a short space of time good luck everyone rant over . OT and never  believe a bus driver
