A car travelling against the traffic crashed into a trailer truck in Nakhon Ratchasima's Non Daeng district on Wednesday night.

Police said the accident happened at 8.30pm on Jenjobthit road in Tambon Samphaniang.

The driver of the car Weerasak Kongnok, and one of his two passengers, Adisa Sonpromnok, were killed outright.

The other passenger, who has yet to be identified, was severely injured and rushed to the Non Daeng Hospital for immediate fast aid then transferred to the provincial hospital.

The truck driver, Wiwat Tankrathok, 33, said he spotted the car driving against the traffic towards his truck and applied the brakes, causing the trailer to sway and end up blocking the right lane.

He said the car continued to drive against the traffic and crashed into his truck.

Police have yet to check blood alcohol level of both the truck and car drivers and will later decide whether to press charges.

Where do you start?  Car driver taking a shortcut?  Couldn't be arsed  to drive in the correct direction, how ever far that is to the nearest U-turn?  Truck driver Poorly trained in how to avoid jackknifing?  R.I.P to the deceased. but you just feel that a big percentage of these alarmingly common incidents  should never occur. Perhaps there really is no hope.

Happened to me traveling to Kanchanaburi,2 lane road,a medium size truck coming toward me half on the shoulder have on the inside lane i pull out and  and to my amazement an old Pajero is coming the wrong way down the outside lane luckily i had room to squeeze between the two, also lucky that that stretch of road was quiet at the time, but these idiots could have caused a fatal crash, what the driver of the Pajero was doing i have no idea,it fairly took my breath away.

I now know That Thailand has a big problem with they cant even drive up the right side of the road. I tend to look at the human brain that has a switch on it. Turn the switch on and you are ok and aware of what is happening around you Sadly most Thai drivers never get this switch turned on. I think the term used for it is Braindead

I don't want to start a new thread & don't usually bother to upload the offending clips, but these stills show the idiot that very nearly killed me during a school run this morning ?

In this incident it permanently took the breath away from the offending driver and one of his passengers with a chance that score might yet increase
