Thai cave rescue: The volunteer helpers

 

BBC video looks at some of the volunteers helping out at the rescue effort in Chiang Rai

 

 

So nice to see the engagement of the "normal citizen"  in bring this to a successful conclusion.

"I don't have the ability to get the kids out ... but what I can do is wash these clothes."

Hundreds of people are contributing to the success of this rescue, some in their own small but vital way.

It reminds me of this proverb/poem:

 

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

 

Every small action contributes to the outcome.

And lets not forget all the TV advisors who have tirelessly given the experts the benefit of their enormous stache of useful advice from using cocker spaniels to skateboards. A big hand of applause.
