Thai TV crew member slapped face of serving girl at restaurant near cave, reports Thai media

Sanook reported that a member of a Thai TV team reporting on the drama at Tham Luang cave got drunk at a nearby restaurant and assaulted a serving girl causing her to have to take two days off work.

 

A Facebook post that was subsequently removed had come from a user based in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai.

 

The post revealed the attack and demanded what gave the media the right to behave in such a manner.

 

 

Sanook reported that after the incident the head of the TV station traveled from Bangkok to the restaurant to apologize to the owner of the restaurant and the staff member involved.

 

They were happy with that and no charges were made.

 

The owner had told Sanook that the reporter involved had been drinking alcohol at the restaurant when they had a problem with the serving girl.

I think it's the girl that had problem with them,drunk people who think they are important,

hitting a young girl,he must be really proud of himself,and got off the hook with an apology,

should have been charged with assault,

I fail to see how reporters are involved in the search effort. I haven't seen too many of those risking their lives diving into the cave to rescue any of the kids. 

He can't hold his drink and has a violent nature - not a good combination.

Right. But those turds weren't involved in the search or rescue. They may have been stressed by just hanging around hoping for something to report.

I think that you are being somewhat harsh worgeordie.

 

IMHO he should be given the opportunity of his lifetime and get taken up to the cave where the boys were found and left with a torch, some food and water and the hope that somebody will rescue him after a few days.

 

A big strong man like that, powerful enough to hit women. It should be a doddle for him.

Disgusting behaviour and being drunk is no excuse...it just shows what type of person he is....shameful.

What do you expect a television reporter to do?  Why is he "a scumbag" and a "piece of shit" for not helping in the search? 

What are all the other reporters doing that you see as being so "useful to aid in the rescue" that this one wasn't doing?

 

And I am not referring here to the assault, I'm commenting specifically on your disparagement of him for not assisting in the search (not that you would have any idea of whether he had been involved or not, of course).
