After divorce in the UK I embarked upon a quest to find her using online dating. I'm almost embarrassed to think how much time I wasted. I literally met 100's of women, starting with Caucasians, before realizing these women had not only let themselves go but were incredibly fussy. I gave up and switched to Asians with more success, mostly Chinese who seemed more focused on your wallet rather than the fact you weren't 6ft2. I met one really nice 39yr old girl originally from Harbin but I couldn't accept the restrictions of a young child and we parted. Then Tinder emerged, the Asians seem absent from it and it all became too difficult. I stayed alone for a few years before finally waking up one day and saying "F*** this country, I'm going to live in Thailand"

Most of us who live here are spoiled beyond redemption. Marrying a woman, 20-plus years younger is hardly possible in the west unless you are Donald Trump. I don't think the divorce stats are much worse than western ones. Everything is temporary, anyway. You will ALWAYS "die alone", unless you have a suicide pact. Worry less about being alone and worry about improving the quality of your remaining life.

I got the snip a few years back and have issues if i mention it to women because they want kids so much.. a 31 year old lady refused to talk to me because she wanted a kid.. I told her by the time she would get pregnant and her kid get to 18 years old she would be 50.

 

anyways, those women have NO idea the amount of restrictions, responsibility and changes to relationship such as intimacy etc that having a kid does.. I was 18 years old when I had my son (not an accident), sadly 9 years later me and the ex gf broke up but hey.. I am well aware of the changes and they are not.

 

yet they act like they know everything about it. truth is that if you were to give a small child to most of them to take care alone for a week they would probably quit after 3 days.

I agree about the divorce rates..and I have said for years it is 50/50..childhood sweethearts, met at church, met at a dive, former prossie, or mail order bride..all 50-50..and you can add coming to Thailand and marrying a Thai woman......

Same thing I had it done 8 years ago. But as you say, tell a girl under 35 you've had the snip and they might ditch you in an instant, happened to me a few weeks back. We'd been happily been at it a few times but then one morning after I told her about the vasectomy I saw her face drop. She left and never txt me again...

So it's hard to tell them to get tested as you don't want to use a condom because it could be game over anyway...

Today I decided enough was enough. I'd quit wasting my time with Tinder and Thai friendly, stop being a wimp and just cold approach. There aren't enough attractive shop assistants so it has to be complete strangers.  Spent a hour prowling T21, then saw her eating sushi alone, looking dam hot and scarily aloof. I took a deep breath and pounced, completely f***ing it up and she chuckled at my embarrassment. Still I handed her a business card, wished her a good day and 2 hours later she added me on line !

Then I got cocky and tackled a few more at Thonglor bts. This is the way to go....

haha. I'm getting business cards made at some point.. I been bothering my graphic designer friend to do them for months.. it takes him literally minutes but I haven't pushed him enough I guess!

i'm interested in the outcome and if you feel its better than the regular thaicupid results.

It's early days of course but I've just had another one who is a pharmacist add me on line. I wasn't expecting them to so easily add me but this is way better...

When I was hunting in Vietnam I got some cards made 'English Teacher' and wore a Union jack T-shirt. Tons of Starbucks and online cuties wanted to learn so it was a 'two-way' street as they say and I got laid a lot!

 

In Thailand I don't do that because of the WP BS but I still get loads through online dating. They ask about my work and I say 'retired early' and that always perks up their 'wow rich farang'  detector, I never confirm or deny it, I get laid a lot.

Definitely you can get laid very easy from online. But I've concluded it depends entirely on the standard of the woman. If I'm willing to accept average looking women for fun then success will be assured. But If I'm aiming for hotties, it doesn't deliver....but that's just me. I guess it depends on how you rate women too and what type you like, so others may have a different experience. 

 

I had a debate with someone last night about relationships with big age gaps. He was saying it's purely a financial transaction and they will have zero feelings for you. I was accused of naivety for disagreeing. But in my opinion this simplistic view is naïve itself.  Of course resources are usually the major attraction. But it doesn't mean they would date absolutely anyone with sufficient money. Most still want to like and feel comfortable with you etc etc and what's that if it's not feelings.

Young pretty women seeking guys of any age, 99.99% of the time, it`s going to be about money. For us older guys, getting laid in Thailand has become an expensive luxury, now reserved for those on the higher income brackets and higher financial levels. I know that if meeting younger women on dating sites or anywhere else, it`s going to cost me and that most of them will not give it up until I start splashing the cash.

 

No one can blame these women, because no young women would fancy having sexual relationships with stinky wrinkly old granddads, the same as, even in my early 60s, I don`t fancy women of my age group and these days, I have settled for going to bed with a good book.

 

In a way this could be described as a form of prostitution, because the majority of decent young women would never consider dating old men on dating sites. The fact that these women are on those sites in the first place, tells us it`s going to be about money. The old guys that believe girls are going to be attracted to them for their charismatic charm are living in cloud cuckoo land.

I remember the bar owners warning about the freelancers...funny thing was, quite a few of the freelancers worked at those same bars.  Paying an outrageous bar fine gives you about as much protection as dating a pretend his on TF.....and that would be very little.

Where and what type of place and who are you referring too?

I do not consider $30 expensive.  Or even $50.

Yes, a GOGO may run $150 all in.  But even then for many from other countries that is not expensive.

Some of these neighboring countries like Cambodia or Vietnam are equal or more now.

I still see Thailand as being very reasonable.
