Crowns: Best options

Featured Replies

Anyone who has had (molar) crowns placed and had a great experience, with a number of months or more without issues, please let me know where you had it done and cost.

Thanks much!

Just had one by my regular dentist at Bangkok Hospital Phuket. This is the 2d such crown and this last one was particularly difficult because top rear-most molar, had a root canal job (very well done). Best I remember was about 18k baht for the crown (root canal extra). Excellent job.

I've had a number of crowns placed but none molar. No problem with any of them and it's been years.

All done at the dental hospital in Bkk Soi On Nut http://www.dentalhospitalbangkok.com/

Thanks.

I have molar crowns but do not recall where/when done (have a lot).  Can say have had two non molar that have had to be removed to fill cavity below in last several years - which has required new cap.  So they are not always a lifetime investment but they do seem to last much longer than the 5-7 years some places indicate.  All have been high grade gold/porcelain type and latest replacement/cavity treatment was 24,400 baht at a higher priced facility.

I've got a mouthful of ceramic.

All of my molars are crowned, going on nearly 20 years at this point. In all that time only had one fail, I seem to recall I was eating toffee and the awful 'crack' sound as the crown broke.
