Recommendations for Good Hosting Service?

Featured Replies

We use GoDaddy to host our company website but I have never been particularly happy with them - our site is not complex or demanding of resources, but it always seems to be on the brink of being out of resources, with GoDaddy seemingly strong arming us to pay to increase to the next resource band.  2 weeks ago we suffered some sort of disaster where half of our email addresses were wiped and the site trashed  - while I cannot claim for certain that the fault lay with GoDaddy, nobody other than me has access to the site and I have not been tinkering with it for a while - and plugin auto updates are off. Fortunately I use updraft so I have frequent backups, but I have come to the point where I want to find an alternative to GoDaddy.

So long story short - any recommendations for a simple, easy to use hosting service where we can also park our domains (1 of which is a premium, .coffee one). Thanks.

Hi RR.

I could be a little behind the times but I used 'Easyspace' a few years back. It was very good but then changed to 'Iomart'. It started becoming unstable and the sites I was webmaster for got hacked by 'David Bu'.

I left them. Soon after it reverted back to 'Easyspace' and I did another site with them; all ok. But that was a while back.

I used Godaddy for years and to be honest hated it at the end.

Currently I'm using Google domains for my Domain registry. It's simple and there is no 'Want to buy this special feature for X dollars?'.

If you don't do website by yourself from scratch, you can use easy Google hosts website builder to have your website.

Thanks - I was not aware Google offered domain services so that might be the answer. Our site is a simple Wordpress one so nothing fancy or complicated, even for me.

Previously I used Bluehost and was very happy with their service but switched to Godaddy when Bluehost almost doubled their prices in a year, but clearly you get what you pay for ?
