August 10, 20187 yr I have a dilemma. My Australian passport is due for renewal on 10/6/2019. I am proposing to renew my passport on my return to Thailand 28/12/2018 - But unfortunately the entry date is 18 days short of the 6 months necessary on the passport validity to enter the Kingdom. Would this small margin be considered acceptable at Thai immigration or is there no flexibility on this 6 months duration? Thank you.
August 10, 20187 yr Since you are from Australia you only need a passport valid for your intended stay. The 6 month requirement does not apply for you.

Enter info for a trip to Thailand with a passport that has less than 6 months remaining here to see if you get a green light. https://skyteam.traveldoc.aero/
August 10, 20187 yr According to the MFA and Travel sites you should have a 6 month validity of Visa. However if you go to the IATA website and enter your personal details you get different responses. https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/TH-Thailand-passport-visa-health-travel-document-requirements.htm# I entered the same information for a UK, American and Australian citizen entering Thailand for 60 days on 14th Sept 2018, no return ticket, and with an expiry date of my passport being 14th Jan 2019, using the carriers British airways, American airlines and Qantas. In the case of the US and UK nationals the document (passport) was not sufficient. No such warning for the Australian national.

IATA document not sufficient. skyteam good to go.

Not sure about the IATA site. IMO they ask for way more info than is needed. I think a just one small error may cause it to give a no go.

The UK gov site states a passport validity of 6 months is required for Thailand. Someone isn't up to date with the requirements. I was clearly under the impression anyone from the 57 Countries allowed VEE only required the passport to be valid for the duration of stay...………… but I could be wrong.
