Animal rights group Watchdog Thailand said on Friday it has sought legal action against a dog owner in Surin who was caught on video beating his dogs.

The organisation posted the video on Facebook showing the unidentified man repeatedly beating several dogs with a stick while they howled in pain.

The watchdog said it had filed a complaint with Tha Matoom police in Surin to file animal cruelty charges against the man.

The post added that neighbours did not dare interfere but they said the man had earlier beaten several dogs to death.

They said the owner used to have five dogs but two died.

And beat him in the same manner prior to arriving to jail....
