Popular Post BestB
It does not matter how old it is, they will still apply 300 or so % tax on value they put on it not what you put on it , so it will end up costing more than buying a newer one here. 7 1

Sell your rig there and buy one off CL https://bangkok.craigslist.co.th/cto/d/reduced-audi-s6-quatrro-1/6664498337.html
Popular Post SteveK
Don't even think about it. Sell the car and bring the money to Thailand. I looked at importing a motorbike from the UK, it was an excellent bike, but shipping and fees/taxes were almost £20,000, totally ridiculous. Lots of red tape as well re: getting the bike on the road here.

Popular Post ChiangMaiLightning2143
It can be done. More likely customs demands so much money the vehicle is abandoned to their mercies and you never see it again. Why tread the “well worn path of Farang failure and misery” when it is simple to buy a car here? 4

If you are in doubt check it out, only need a few clicks on your keyboard. 8 1

Popular Post KhunBENQ
Cool down and wait for one or two members who describe you that they did. Of course there is a huge, lengthy bureaucratic procedure described. Tax is not necessarily 300%, there are tables depending on age and other parameters (forgot the details). But really the procedure can take very long and be frustrating. Professional help needed and does not pay (if that is your intention). It would only make sense if it's an exceptional unique "vertu" but not for a 2003 Audi. So in total, no different: forget it. If it were so easy to import right hand cars I would be first in line because there would be a lot of money to make in selling them on.
Popular Post Sakeopete
The problem importing into Thailand is that customs is neck to neck at the top of the corruption scale with the police. That is why importing cars is limited to the big connected players who pay the bribes monthly to the men at the top. Even if you follow the policy to the letter customs will often make up their own numbers until you abandon the car especially if they like it. The cars are then a auctioned off. This has been happening for decades. Edited August 27, 2018 by Sakeopete 4
