Mae Sai border still good for Border runs?

Featured Replies

A Wikipedia article said that the Mae Sai border was closed to Visa/border runs.  I was checking to see if this is still the case.  And if so, which border would be the next closest?

Any other restrictions?

That info is way out of date.

No problem to do a crossing at Mae Sai with a valid visa for entry or for a new 30 day visa exempt entry.

Although not on a visa run, I was up there this past weekend. There were no immigration queues for foreign nationals and the markets in both Mae Sai and Tachilek were completely dead and nearly devoid of visitors.

I think that is correct. I can recall something about it being open later.
