Former Playmate Smith dies at 39

Smith spent years fighting for a portion of her late husband's wealth

The flamboyant former model Anna Nicole Smith has died near Miami, Florida at the age of 39, her lawyer has said.

Smith, a former Playboy bunny, married Texas oil billionaire J Howard Marshall II in 1994 when she was 26 and he was 89. He died a year later.

She spent years in court fighting his son for a share of his estate, and won a victory at the Supreme Court in 2006.

She was found unconscious in a hotel room and could not be resuscitated. No cause of death has been announced.

US media have reported that an autopsy will be conducted on Friday.

One of Smith's lawyers told Reuters news agency her husband Howard K Stern was "speechless and grieving".

Smith, a former topless dancer, went on to model for Guess Jeans and Playboy before marrying Marshall.

Her son from a short-lived youthful marriage died at the age of 20 in September, just days after Smith's daughter was born.

No matter how she lived her life, the end of it wasn't very nice.

Her son died.

Had a baby that could have led to postpartum depression.

Sued to get out of the house she was living in.

On-going paternity suit.

Got to feel a bit sorry for her.

I beleive there is also an ongoing dispute over paternity of the baby girl. Her ex lawyer (now husband) Howard K Stern claims paternity but another guy also claims it! She led a very odd life but in the past few months she must have been under tremendous stress with the death of her son.

In 1997, whilst attending the Monaco Grand Prix, I met the author of her autobiography Eric Redding and his gorgeous wife.

The tales he told me about her were unbelievable!!

She was an extremely unbalanced but amazingly manipulative person.

Okay. So. Her son, who was, then the only person who could have been her heir, dies of a drug overdose. Then she has a baby.

Then, Howard Stern has his name on the birth certificate of the only other person who could be her heir if she died, her baby.

Then, Anna dies of a drug overdose.

Then Howard Stern blocks attempts at proving the child's paternity.

To me, all this points towards SOMEONE wanting access to all the money she may be or was going to possibly be worth.

Who stood to profit the most if Anna's son, then Anna died? (and it had to be in that order, or her son would have gotten everything, and that would have shut anyone else out.)

And, that two of the most critical events, the death of her son, and the birth of her baby, occurred in a country not as well prepared to investigate possible murders as thoroughly, or demand more stringent proof of paternity for a child?

Occam's razor doesn't always work, but it is what you have to apply first. Look for the less obvious conclusions after Occam's razor doesn't work.

I am not saying Howard Stern killed them to get the cash. I'm saying it bears investigating to find what was in both their bodies when they died.

Actaully it was $1.7 billion if you included the outside loos on his properties which could be redevelped to house people in need....

I dont think that speculation really does anything, wait for the facts.

Illicit drugs have been ruled out at this stage according to the coroner.

Model's death remains a mystery

An initial autopsy has failed to find the cause of Anna Nicole Smith's death, the doctor who carried it out has said.

No illegal drugs were found at the scene of her death, and her stomach did not contain pills, experts say.

But medical examiner Joseph Perper said he had not ruled out an overdose as a cause of death, and was waiting for the results of chemical analysis.

Ms Smith, a former Playboy model who fought a long battle for her late husband's estate, died on Thursday.

She was 39 years old.

There is "no evidence... to suggest a crime occurred," Police Chief Charlie Tiger told reporters in Florida.

But he said the investigation would remain open until Dr Perper, the Broward County medical examiner, completed his investigation.

Dr Perper said that could take from three to five weeks

"It is a medical puzzle which we have to resolve to get a comprehensive picture of what happened," he said.
