pizza hut seems to hire a lot of them.  Not much of an advancement but unfortunately for many Thais decent jobs or professions or careers or businesses without massive bribes and kickbacks are hard to come by

I have come across ladyboys that are nurses acountants and bank managers. I think that the prejudice against them is overstated by the OP.

Never "come across" a ladyboy prostitute...…..yet!

As ever threads like this show that Thaivisa has a deep reservoir of homophobia.

Most of those posts reveal the deep hangups these people have about their own sexuality.

It's hard to be sympathetic though for people who clearly need help but are so aggressive in covering up their problems.

In the UK I was once elected on to a London & boroughs council which was to discuss local issues. 70% of the time we were discussing the gay community and its plight. In one particular discussion the main topic was the gay community and borough swimming facilities. The gay community represented at the discussion wanted 3 days a week for gay only while the remainder was all comers. I said that this was discrimination against non-gay and that I would only consider such a motion if there were 3 days a week for non-gay. Talk about sour grapes, there was uproar and I became known as anti-gay. I am not! I have worked with homosexuals in industry and never had problems. No, I think the gay community both here and elsewhere need to understand what the problems are and what they reflect in their actions.

)I didn’t edit your post.

I quoted the judgemental aspect to highlight the negative intent, you intended, with your use of the word “perversion”.

You abbreviated the sentence to make it sound worse than it was.

No negative intent in my use of the word "perversion". If you read the post again (which you seem to have read selectively), you will see that I stated that I have a perversion myself.

Don't presume to lecture me as to what I intended by the use of a word.

Until you brought it up, there was only 4 previous posts and none of them exhibited any form of homophobia elet alone this abyss you talk about. Lets take a look shall we?

Biased or not, it is their choice who they choose to employ, end of discussion.

No homophobia suggested here.

This is a very formal university with old fashioned standards, but the fact remains she was given a job in the first place. It's quite plausible any teacher there could have got disciplined over doing the same thing, and if someone's sexuality and identity started to turn into a personal agenda for them, these traits would likely have been considered to be getting in the way of the job.

Someone gets fired for doing something inappropriate on social media? Happens to straight people in other countries too.

In never appears to be....all that illusion is created by and on behalf of westerners who don't understand LGBTI and make assumptions based on their biased and untutored personal observations.

So if you don't "understand" LGBTI, you must be a homophobe?

If you don't "understand" Thai culture, you must be a xenophobe?

If you don't "understand" the Thai language, you must be a sexpat?

I didn't abbreviate it to change it's meaning.

I quoted what you said.

There is no way that sentence could be made better. Adding TiT certainly didn't.

How you describe others matters.

The use of the word perversion is wholly pejorative.

I read your post, if you meant something else, then your word choice was poor...

Edit: Full sentence. It's actually worse in full...

"If you are happy getting your back door smashed in by another guy, good luck to you, TiT, up to you, but don't foist your perversion on others, to make yourself feel better about your perversion."

It's not the post, it's the reader. Not pejorative. Adding up to you made a lot of difference to the tone.

I presume from your arrogance in presuming that you can lecture other people on what they think and say, you must be American, na?

No, it's the choice of pejorative language.

No, I'm not.

Heterosexual sex is dependant on the gender of the participants. Requires a male and a female.

Sorry but "nappies and dummies" about me. I introduced that and S&M to illustrate [I have some weird fetishes].

I have seen many of you normally hanging around the back streets of your given town late at night waiting for that lovely Ladyboy to come past. Of course though, acting macho and homophobic online excuses these so-called past times.

ask half of Americans, conservative politicians, religious christians, fox followers, trump admirers and most Republicans about LGBT, they are from stoneage and very regressive.  no need to think that the West is better and behave in ethnocentric way liked usual.

Oh the old nutmeg, "If you say that you don't like ladyboys, you must secretly love them".

I don't mind ladyboys, I have a ladyboy family member and a good friends daughter is a ladyboy, sometimes stays the night at our house, but in no way am I physically attracted to them. The idea of climbing into bed and being confronted by another guy's meat and two veg, repulses me. Does that make me a secret ladyboy lover? No way.

If you are happy getting your back door smashed in by another guy, good luck to you, TiT, up to you, but don't foist your perversion on others, to make yourself feel better about your perversion.

Repulses you? Getting your back doors smashed in? You really do have a problem don’t you?

I hope and pray that a child of yours turns up one day and tells you that hey are gay or lesbian, let’s see how repulsed you would be then.

And this lady boy who sleeps over, bet you can’t take your eyes of her can you?

Not sure that's true. Know of a ladyboy partner of a friend who said if she/he stops taking hormones the beard comes back and other male characteristics start to appear.

Lol, most Thai men don't have heavy facial hair the way that most farangs do anyway. But this thread has gone completely off topic - surprise, surprise.

Nevertheless it's always amusing to see how the comparatively few farang gender bigots bend themselves out of shape with Thailand's more relaxed approach to gender.

There are two genders, defined by DNA.

Then there are the mentally ill, who deny reality.

Not that being mentally ill is necessarily wrong, I'm also mentally ill but not in a sexual way.

LGBT seems to be represented in many aspects of Thai life and in many industries within Thailand at many levels.

As posters have said they are well represented on television and in the media and seem to be accepted in the towns, cities, and villages around Thailand as the ' norm ' without hostility towards them.

The areas they get a raw deal is in being unable to be recognized legally in such as marriage, and rights that other Thai nationals are afforded and to a degree, there is discrimination against them. On another point, LGBTI or whatever is the latest terminology, does not only cover ladyboys, hence the title of the thread is wrong. It covers gays, lesbians, transgenders as well.

It seems odd to me that a foreign gay person, say from the U.K., can fly to communist Vietnam with a Thai ladyboy, or gay or whatever and marry or enter into a civil partnership at their Embassy.

They then have their rights recognized in their partners home country regarding wills, property, etc but is unable to do this in Thailand, where up to now, this is still not allowed or accepted in Thailand because of archaic laws.

I will not even enter into their sexual practices as I find it irrelevant and many TV responses childish when referring to them.

Some TV members need to know that vulgarity and toilet humor against LGBT is no substitute for genuine wit.

Ladyboys take hormones. Not being able to afford proper consultation with a specialist endocrinologist leads them to take advice from their friends as to what hormones to take, leading them to imbibe masses of inappropriate hormones.

The most common ones are steroids which, in large doses, can lead to aggressive behaviour. "Roid rage".

You really don't have much knowledge..why would a ladyboy take steroids.. they increase muscle and hair grow. Steroids are in general male hormones.. ladyboys would take female hormones..

> See my earlier post about biological gender, socially constructed gender (eg the reason you as a man don't wear dresses) and psychological gender. DNA doesn't determine our feelings, attitudes, values, prejudices, aspirations, sexuality etc - human beings are not single-celled organisms.

If that don’t have a dick then there are transgender not lady”boys” are they not? Lol

Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

A Male naturally with all the attributes of a woman except for the plumbing. A true Ladyboy does not need surgery or makeup to look like a woman, nor is there a need to try and sound like a woman it is all natural for them.
