Musical Hospitals and Doctors

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had similar experiences? It is often a never ending search to find good doctors, or what is exactly wrong or to get a correct diagnosis here. I am currently in CM and had to go to 5 dermatologists only to find out myself that I had black mold poisoning from old wood furniture in a condo I rented. Itching like crazy for over a month. They sold me every cream in the book etc. This has applied lately with a different issue involving 3 hospitals and 4 doctors, only to be able to finally deduce the problem from all the various sources of information, as two of them were so ridiculous, it was like "Mai pen rai" you OK, don't worry. It drives me batty here, the never ending shock of ridiculous diagnosis and the inability for even the supposed best hospitals staff to know than very minimal English. Yes I know I am not living in Australia etc, but how they even have the arrogance call themselves International Hospital? Yes, cheap and kind...I know yah yah...I have found now perhaps 5 excellent Doc's but the search has taken years.

You need to research the doctor first....the doctor, not the hospital

Never take pot luck at a hospital. You are always welcome to post here for recommendations.

I quite agree re English level capacity of hospital staff. True even at the most expensive "international" hospitals in Bangkok....even in their international relations offices.

To be fair a reaction to black mold would not be easy to diagnose.

Completely agree, size or looks of a Hospital have nothing to do with the right Doctor although sometimes you get stuck having to use BKK or Ram just because they have the high end equipment. Best so far for me are, Heart Tanuwat, and younger Thai Chinese Lady at BKK hos for Liver. Dr. Surin older Indian guy at a tiny hospital near the old Chotana bus station. Dr. Chanakarn, Ortho Rajavej and office around corner across river. Also had pretty good luck with a male and female ENT at Lanna. Empress Dental Hang Dong.
