A Mon couple were stabbed by a group of men at their grocery shop in Kanchanaburi's Muang district on Thursday night.

The couple’s 13-year-old daughter (name withheld) told police that six men arrived on motorcycles at 10.15pm and stabbed her mother, Cha-em, 39, while she was standing in front of their house and shop in Moo 6 village, Tambon Pak Praek.

The girl said she became frightened, ran into her room and locked it.

Some men tried to break into her room and when her father heard the noise, he rushed over to see what it was all about and was stabbed.

After the men left, relatives rushed the mother to the hospital but the father, Madd, 43, died at the scene.

I am guessing that this is not a biker gang as in Hells Angel types, but teenage Thai youngsters who use the area to race their souped up scooters.....

Yeah but don't understand why mention of Mon, racist journalist perhaps.

So sad.

Something that the young Thai teenager is not likely to ever forget.

I hope that the Thai police arrest every last one of the "Scoopy heroes"

I agree.....

It would appear that his ethnicity is irrelevant ......

I bet at least one of the scooter 'gang' is the son of an 'influential' person.

No. Mon are older inhabitants of the area, business dealings in Myanmar. Read some history.Western Thailand was Mon, then Khmer, then Thai. Ethnic roots are deep. Do some research, or stay quiet.

Do some research?

Why?

I know who the Mon people are...….

The man has been stabbed to death...…..My point was, he has been brutally murdered...Whatever his roots are.

Do you get that Mr. keyboard warrior?

If not then maybe you should shut up and think before you type.

Well, there is certainly one person on this thread endearing himself to everyone !!!...  What a tool !....

On Topic: I wonder what more there is to this story... A Gang of 6 guys attack a lady, then kill the father...  What triggered this madness? Was it related ethnic differences?

Or, as we well know in Thailand, it could have been triggered by something no more nefarious than simple loss of face...

I live close by......These teenage street racers are out most nights, to the annoyance of the locals, I am not in a position to say what triggered this, could be as you say.

As for Mr. Troll, he has a history of telling people what they should research, and being a bit of a bore...…..It takes all sorts....
