Cartilage regeneration on the way for knees?

Featured Replies

Browsing through the internet I came across this article.

CartiHeal, developer of a novel joint-repair solution, raises $15m investment to advance clinical trials ahead of 2017 European launch.

How factual is it and is this treatment already in the market? Anyone heard about this or any other similar treatment?

No hadn't heard about it but the link to the article in the publication showed up some very interesting stuff....so thanks.

On a similar note to that which you ask, I did have a course of 3 injections into my elbow after having some damaged cartilage removed and this was to aid the joint and its lubrication. It worked well and I was able to continue playing tennis with no pain whatsoever.

It certainly helped with joint mobility and pain...……...a synovial fluid replacement I think.

Any help to you?

About 8 years ago I had a pain in my knees which was diagnosed as Osteoarthritis. I was prescribed some pain killers and something called Carticare - Chondroitin Sulphate and Glucosamine Sulphate which I continued for sometime.

Finally, found an Ayurveda physician who put an end to the pain with some herbal decoction & some strange mixture to be applied on to my knee (I stopped the painkillers). After about 5 weeks, the pain subsided.

Now I am fine and do a 12 KM walk/jog 3 times a week and more, when time permits. Anyways, I just keep an eye open to any new medical developments that may regenerate the cartilage safely.

Chinese TM practitioners recommend eating okra ( various ways like steaming, put in boiling water in a thermos and drink the water after 8/10 hours) to have good Joint health. I have some Joint stiffness and after drinking the broth a few times a week, it disappeared after 3 months. .. be8nh doing that till now and the problem never reoccur.
