Power blackout to hit from Karon to Chalong Circle

PHUKET: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Patong Office has announced that the electricity supply will be temporarily shut off along Patak Rd, from Karon Hill to Chalong Circle next Tuesday (Oct 16).

 

The scheduled blackout, from 7am to 5 pm, is necessary as works are carried out on installing new high-voltage power cables, the PEA noted in its statement. (Click here.)

 

The areas to be affected by the power outage are along the south side of Patak Rd, from the PEA substation on Karon Hill to Chalong Circle, and including Soi Plukjae.

So the black out will not affect Karon, and just a small part of Kata, since the station is on the way from Kata to Chalong.

From Karon to Chalong circle is misleading.

That's the way I read it. Not sure whether will affect us as we are on the other side of the sub station. Power lines on both sides of Patak Rad and they have cross connections. No doubt the power on our side will go off but wonder if they will switch to our side. Time will tell. I assume no power.
