Surin Hotels And Transport

Featured Replies

Im going to a mates wedding in Surin on 1st of March and the weddings in Naadee Sub district amphur Muang which is a little to the North of Surin town.

Just looking for any recommendations on hotels not too expensive in the town as may come up a day or two before and also is there any VIP buses that leave for Bangkok at around 8 or 9 ish in the morning as need to be back in Bangkok for early evening on the 2nd

Thanks

Hi

Not sure about buses, I always fly from Buri Ram. Hotels are between Majestic or Thong Tarin (both are on Google Earth).Majestic is newer, cheaper but Thong Tarin has nice Garden restaurant. See website above (Farang con) for allsorts of useful info

Yes, there are VIP buses departing from the office very close to Surin Plaza (not the main bus station). Departures at 0800, 0900, 1000 and similar in the evenings. Can be booked several days in advance. Cost per ticket - 324 baht. :o

You've got over twenty hotels to choose from in Surin now, and as Dave says you can click on the link at the top of the page and go to Hotels.

There is also a very good connection between BKK and Surin, with 5 bus companies running the route. They all leave from Moochit at various times of the morning or evening, except bus company 99 which run all through the day. Only problem with 99 is they are not all VIP. The bus number is 31.

There is also a very good train service between the two cities, with a first class sleeper leaving once a day. (again see web site and log onto 'To & from' The price for the first class is just over a thousand baht, and 500 baht for second class sleeper.

Also as stated PB air do a five times a week service to Burirum( Satuk), which is only 65kms from the town. Planes leave mon, tues, wed, thurs & sat. See http://www.pbair.com for further details. We do an airport pick-up for 1,200 baht (for up to five people)

Any further info or hotel bookings please PM me or go through the web channels.

thanks, I need to get back to Bangkok on the friday though unfortunately which rules out flying.

Agreed about the Garden Restaurant being pleasant but unfortunately their beer is the most expensive in town.
