Big Joke: UK woman was not raped on Phuket; Thai "sushi maker" arrested

 

 

Immigration chief Maj-Gen Surachate Hakparn has said that a 24 year old UK woman who claimed she was raped on Phuket was penetrated by a finger. 

 

A man is in custody charged with molestation. Surachate praised the local police for wrapping up the investigation within six hours to the satisfaction of the foreign victim. 

 

Earlier the woman had appealed to locals that she was attacked by a man she met at the Banana Coffee House in Rawai on the Rawai to Nai Han road, reported Daily News.

 

Surachate said that the man involved prepared sushi at the establishment concerned. 

 

The victim was drinking at the pub alone, he said. She met a Thai man and asked him to take her to her hotel. She fell asleep due to being drunk and awoke to find that she was in a house being sexually assaulted.

"She ran to get help from neighbors and the police (from Chalong) got involved in an investigation. The hospital report said there was no evidence of rape or semen".

 

The Maj-Gen added that the man concerned is not suffering from a serious disease. And that the victim in the case was "very happy" with the police investigation. 

 

"It is over," he said. "and it took just six hours to complete". 

 

A man has been charged with penetrating the woman via a sexual organ, anus or mouth.

 

He faces 4 - 20 years in jail and/or a fine of 8,000 to 40,000 baht.

Did the police smell his finger,then decide he only Penetrated her

with his finger,if he was a sushi maker his fingers would smell 

fishy anyway, this seem to be a ploy be the Police to say no rape

occurred.so no more bad news.

The authorities are saying it was not rape, another rape case

would have been bad news for tourism,that's what I mean.

That's meaningless.  Rape or sexual assault is defined by the criminal code of every jurisdiction.  It doesn't matter how a dictionary defines it.  Rape in Thailand requires intercorse.  In the US, most jurisdictions would charge this act as sexual assault, not rape.  Thailand's criminal code is antiquated, and the best BJ could do was molestation (Sec. 278).

Man arrested for rape of female British tourist in Phuket

PHUKET: A Thai man accused of raping a British tourist in Phuket was tracked down and arrested yesterday (Nov 9), Phuket Provincial Police announced at a press conference this morning (Nov 10).

 

Chalong Police were notified of an alleged rape of a 24-year-old British woman at 9.06am yesterday morning. Officers were called to the Banana Coffee House on the road to Nai Harn Beach after a foreign woman ran into the shop crying and overwhelmed with emotion. The woman said that she had been assaulted and raped.

 

The woman was first taken to the Accident & Emergency Centre at the yet-to-open Chalong Hospital and then transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town (read more here).

She was staying at the hotel and she asked him to drive her home. But she was drunk and passed out on his motorcycle so he took her to his place to assault.

I have escorted many a lady back to her hotel/home to ensure she arrives safely and NO harm comes to her. Then I am not a rapist just a normal bloke, its what normal men do.

 

From what I read if the report in Phuky news is true then he decided to take her to his place and raped her as she was too drunk to consent and he took advantage but proofing that is another matter...

Maybe he had to change his story to protect the image of Thailand.
