Hello, here is my situation. I recently came to Thailand with my wife. I am on an education visa and still in my first 3 months to expire at the end of the month. My wife suddenly became very sick these last couple months and was diagnosed with a disease so we will need to return back home to the USA to get treatment. We need some time in order to try to get her in a more stable position before we go on a long round of flights to get back home worried about complications that could arise.

So instead of going to immigration to get a 90 day extension is it possible that we just get the 30 day extension on these visas?

I am on a 90 day ED visa and she is on a 90 day non-0 visa. My ED visa expires at the end of the month but her non-0 expires at the end of Dec. Would it be possible that I got a 30 day extension on my visa alone from my ED visa and we just leave before her visa expires by the end of Dec? Or would she need to try to get an extension as well because I am not sure if her visa automatically is canceled if my ED visa ends or I get the 30 day extension?

You can’t get s 30 day extension.

If your wife has a 90 day permit to stay from a non ‘O’ visa entry she can stay until the end of December regardless of your visa status.

Unless you extend for 90 days your easiest option is to exit/re-enter for a 30 day visa exempt stay (assuming you haven’t done that twice already this year).

If your wife can get a letter from her doctor stating she is unable to travel she can get an extension for medical treatment. You could also get one with a letter you need to take care of her.

Well since I can't get a 30 day extension it looks like I will just have to do a 90 day extension with the school and we can just leave before her non-0 expires.

Thanks so much for the help.
