Which Hospital Dept to ask for?

Featured Replies

Hello Sheryl I am hoping you can answer the above.

Symptoms are, numbness/tingling in my toes, spongey soles of feet, feeling of wearing socks when I wake up, "sock marks" when I do wear them, night itching, and (once only) edema.

Cannot explain to the helpful reception staff as their English is not too good.

And any idea what sort of tests they would suggest? All routine blood tests are within normal limits.

Apparently jointly and severally these are known as "peripheral neuropathy". Not sure if that is the name of a problematic condition or just a description.

This could be wither a circulatory or neurological problem.  Since you say the edema occurred only once, I suggest start with neurology.

Thank you Sheryl
