Police in Kalasin have announced the arrest of a 17 year old youth who held up a branch of 7-Eleven in the north eastern Thai city.

The youth went into the convenience store branch on Sanam Bin Road and demanded money on October 24th.

Staff made a run for it and the would be robber got nothing and fled himself on a Honda Wave motorcycle.

He had used a toy gun in the robbery attempt.

Manager reported that he had no job and needed money for his girlfriend who is four months pregnant.

He has been detained and will face prosecution.

He could have chosen a better way to support his pregnant g/f, but I give him credit for not just abandoning her and doing a runner.

Totally agree but with the emphasis on "could have chosen a better way".

Hopefully they go easy on him.

Hope this guy gets some jail time, no sympathy from me. Maybe he might learn

that using any gun in a robbery is no joke. Go easy on him due to his age? No way!

Ahh come on Colin. He's just a <deleted> up, 17 year old horny kid who did the deed without enough common sense to wrap the champ and he exercised poor judgment a second time by trying to rob a 7-11 with a toy gun (but his body stance does look pretty threatening).

Let's give him one more chance. Maybe fatherhood will smarten him up.

Jail won't help. it'll just teach him more bad crap.
