Flies in village compounds

Featured Replies

Hi ,

we just arrived in Pattaya couple of weeks ago & looking up for our new home.. we noticed a golf course area property very nice & classy otherwise BUT not even for a second one can sit without trying to get away/ from swarming small flea like things...

we visited some other landed properties but didn’t find same nuisance.

Is it the sewer / drain running near the other property which could be the cause!

Any such experiences?

i did see some posts on this forum regarding fruit flies etc BUT no fruit / veg / food but that place is buzzzing with those small creatures

I have lived in Thailand 10+ years .And periodically through the seasons you will have flies of some description trying their best too annoy you ...Welcome to the Tropics ...

Maybe 70th floor of a condo could  be your answer but even that is no guarantee ????

Maleng wee, they swarm anywhere at anytime......bloody annoying but usually gone somewhere else in a couple of hours.

At first I thought he may be talking about the Flying Rice Bugs, usually swarm during rice cutting season because as my Thai Friends tell me "They are pissed off we cut down their houses"  these buggers bite ferociously and unlike mosquitos bites, itch like crazy for a week or more.  We have them in Vietnam as well.

Sounds like same bug we encountered long ago while having a dinner ( prepared by hotel) on beach on Phi Phi.. those little suckers bite and as said above ferocious. After about 30 minutes

we asked to get off the beach....  very annoying.

Go to Australia in the summer there (espesially out bush), then come back here. It aint to bad.????????

Thailand is a tropical country and the humidity means you have to have showers every day
