World's Highest Ferris Wheel

The much touted highest ferris wheel is nearing completion in Yaowarat Rd, Phuket City, adjacent to Tesco.

Only problem is they seem to have been confused about how high it needs to be to get the record. It's only about the size of the one I rode as a kid in the local Luna Park!

It appears they're constructing some sort of fair ground with a number of rides and other attractions. It appears to be part of the massive new undercover markets also near completion.

The (old) big wheel at "Dreamland" Margate was supposed to be the biggest in europe...on a clear day from the top you could see France !

I think the highest is the "Big Wheel" at Elitch Gardens in Denver Colorado at ~1,800m 

 

I think the tallest is the "High Roller" in Las Vegas NV at 167.6m

I know there is a Ferris wheel in Quito, Ecuador, so the one in Denver can not be the highest.

And it wouldn't surprise me if there are other, higher ones.

The highest could well be the ferris wheel at Rohtang pass which is at 3,978m.

 

The tallest is Ain Dubai at 210m.
