As other have said there are plenty of women in Thailand and if you have doubts about someone, find another. In general I have seen very few long distance relationships where the guy only visits a couple of times a year work out. However, I have seen many cases where a Thai girl shacks up with her Thai husband/boyfriend and then has him move out for the couple of weeks of the "visit", or worse still she passes him off as her "brother" that lives with her.

Seems she keeping her gig at hand by promising something she would not do. As long the money flow in her directions, there is no runaway. 

 

I learned quite early, how to make yourselves interesting to the women, using their own tactic.

Cheaper to move on and not make the same mistakes next time.

it happens quite often here.... at least once a week, guess they don't read the forums

 

i have dated a lot of women back home and here - and in other countries, i've never felt the need to spy or check up on any of them.

Maybe not, but if you weren't acting like a big spender the girl wouldn't be interested in you in the first place. I find that not giving money generally rules out scammers. When I dated my wife I wasn't giving her a single baht. You know.... decent women are generally like that.
