PHUKET: Police responded to incidents involving the deaths of two long-term Phuket expats yesterday (Jan 17): one Australian man deemed by police to have committed suicide, and a 71-year-old Frenchman who died of a heart attack.

PHUKET: The US government shutdown due Congressional appropriations has left the tsunami-warning buoy deployed off Phuket today useless as the buoy remains to be manually activated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Netflix has been slammed for using real footage of the deadly Lac-Mégantic train crash for a scene in the movie Bird Box. In the popular Netflix film, footage of the crash appeared within the first five minutes as a scene within a scene (pictured)

 

Netflix's post-apocalyptic survival film Bird Box is drawing criticism for using footage of a real fiery train disaster but the streaming giant has no plans to remove it.
